The following items have been updated in the Paddle Canada River Kayaking Program.
Edition 202401 (January 2024)
- Add Introduction to Rolling to Beginner River Kayak Skills.
Edition 202302 (February 2023)
- Updated: General policies section at the beginning of the manual. No major policy changes, just clean-up of wording and various grammar fixes.
Edition 202207 (July 13, 2022)
- Added in information about certification maintenance clinics.
Edition 202107 (July 2021)
- Add IT Transfer requirements for Paddle Canada Instructor Trainers from other disciplines.
- Adjust wording around surfing to focus on river running and control, not playboating.
Edition 201902 (February 2019)
- Add recreational Kayak skills course.
- Bring manual up to date with current Paddle Canada Standards and programs.
- Re-introduce Paddle Canada River Kayak Instructor Stream.
- Modify Introduction to River Kayak Skills to be more River focused, removing Sea Kayak specific skills.
- Add Advanced River Kayak Instructor.
- Add Reference to Paddle Canada Camping Program.
Edition 6 (April 2013)
- Updated with new Paddle Canada First Aid Requirements.
Edition 5 (April 2011)
- Added “Introduction to Kayak Skills” back into River Kayak Program.
Edition 4 (April 2011)
- Updated manual to reflect Paddle Canada skill levels only with instructor levels being facilitated by Canoe Kayak Canada – Whitewater (CKC-W).
