Style Canoeing Program Recent Changes

The following items have been updated in the Paddle Canada Style Canoeing Program.

January 2026

• No major changes to the program this year.

January 2025

• Added header information required for all manuals (Paddle Canada requirement, re-formatted document for consistency with other program manuals, added instructor assessment resources.

December 2024

Removed all resource material into a separate document, reformatting.

October 2020

• Clarification of the requirement for straight line glide as part of weight turn development. Name change from American FreeStyle to just FreeStyle to be consistent with terminology.

September 2020

• Small edit regarding silent or rolling J.

July 2020

• Clarification of IT requirements.

November 2019

• Updated Paddle Canada info from 2020 strategic plan release, and minor edits.

September 2019

• Format update of the 4th manual edition.
